/about
A student-run cybersecurity club at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. We build the targets, break them, and write up how.
/mission
Most people learn security by reading about it. We think you learn it by having something to break and someone to argue with about how you broke it.
So the club is built around doing the work: we stand up vulnerable targets, run CTFs on our own infrastructure, take on scoped assessments where someone has actually asked us to, and write up what we found. Beginners get workshops that assume nothing. Everyone else gets a scoreboard.
The server this club runs on is maintained by members. Identity, reverse proxy, CTF platforms, automation — all of it is student-configured, and understanding how it works is part of what you get out of being here.
You learn security by having something to break, and someone to argue with about how you broke it.

Community is what you get when you join. It covers the open CTF board, the resource vault, workshops, and the Discord. Most members stay here and that’s a perfectly good place to be.
Core is the smaller group that runs engagements, builds challenges, and maintains the infrastructure. It is not for sale — there is no upgrade button, and paying more does not get you in.
The leads grant Core to people who have already been doing the work: solving on the community board, showing up to sessions, writing up what they found, contributing challenges. If you want it, the path is to be visibly useful for a semester and say so on Discord. Core members get a second CTF board at ctf-core.thebackdoorclub.com and the restricted vault folders.

The fastest route is our Discord — the public channels are open before you join as a member. For anything that needs a paper trail, including sponsorship and assessment enquiries, email tbdc@nmamit.in.
